Davenport Makes an Impact

The average U.S. family spends almost $1,500 a year on utility bills, but unfortunately a lot of this energy is not put to good use. Air conditioning or heat escape through drafty windows and doors, and some household appliances use energy 24 hours a day - even when they are turned off. To help improve education about energy efficiency, Alcoa launched the Make an Impact program in Davenport on October 14.

Over 150 Alcoans attended the workshops led by the Make an Impact team and learned tips and tools to save energy, save money, and to improve their local and global environment. Employees had the chance to learn about saving money on their utility bills, as well as to enter a raffle to win a new bike.
