New York City Waste Less
Every building in New York City is required by law to recycle — including every residence, city agency, school, institution, and business. Recycling refers to the collection and reprocessing of waste materials into new products.
Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency
The UCRRA ia a solid waste management authority established to safely manage solid waste for Ulster County residents. There is information available on transfer stations hours, recycling collection programs, and alternative methods of consumer purchasing and disposal available.

Bristol Resource Recovery Facility
BRRFOC/TROC holds regular hazardous and electronic waste collections and conducting public education campaigns to inform residents about recycling and waste services. On each town page, you will find information about municipal recycling, trash pickup and other town services.
Keystone Home Energy Loan Program
AFC First Financial Corporation provides energy efficiency financing in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic U.S. It is the exclusive lender for Pennsylvania's official ENERGY STAR loan program, Keystone HELP. It also administers the Connecticut Solar Lease program for the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund.
Village of Massena Department of Public Works
Recyclables are collected weekly by the Village of Massena Department of Public Works. "Blue boxes" are provided by the Village for recycling use and must be placed curbside prior to 6am on designated collection day. The St. Lawrence County Solid Waste Department also provides a recycling station in Massena at Dump Road off Route 420 toward Winthrop.

Green Thumb
Established in 1978, GreenThumb remains the nation's largest urban gardening program, assisting over 600 gardens and nearly 20,000 garden members throughout New York City. Our aim is to foster civic participation and encourage neighborhood revitalization while preserving open space.
Massena Farmers Market
Sponsored by the Massena Common Council, the market operates on Thursdays, 2 PM - 6 PM and Sundays, 8 AM - 3 PM from July to early October. The market offers a wide variety of fresh and organic homegrown vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs, as well as a large selection of fresh baked goods and homemade crafts. Community events are scheduled throughout the season.

The Potsdam Food Co-op is owned and operated by its members and is dedicated to meeting the community’s need for specialty and whole foods at the lowest possible cost. As a member of the local community interested in its well being, they attempt to use local sources whenever feasible.

GardenShare is a locally led, nonprofit organization seeking to end hunger and strengthen food security in northern New York State. GardenShare initiatives promote healthy food and strengthen healthy farms so that everybody eats.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
The Green Building Tax Credit provides for tax credits to owners and tenants of eligible buildings and tenant spaces which meet certain "green" standards. These standards increase energy efficiency, improve indoor air quality, and reduce the environmental impacts of large commercial and residential buildings in New York State, among other benefits.
GreenHomeNYC
A community-oriented, volunteer-run organization, GreenHomeNYC works with building owners, builders, and suppliers of building products to promote the use of environmentally friendly, energy-conserving building practices and products in small buildings. Offers an "Ask the Expert" Q&A archive; GreenBuilding House Calls will make visits to co-op, condo boards, or schools; currently building an online director of green building professionals.
St. Lawrence County
On its website, St. Lawrence County offers residents energy saving tips and advice, updated monthly, to reduce energy consumption at home and in the car. The County's Weatherization Program provides energy related repairs for HEAP eligible homeowners, but currently has a wait-list.
Village of Massena Housing Rehabilitation
The Village of Massena offers a housing rehabilitation program for eligible homeowners that includes improved insulation, weatherization, and other repairs or improvements.

Green Apple Map
The Green Apple Map’s System has produced twelve different maps of the city since 1992. To support the environment and climate care, in addition to the citywide Green Apple Maps, we have produced Energy, Composting and Youth-oriented editions and provided related tours, workshops and exhibits. We have also created resources that help NYC's youth and community Green Map projects achieve wonderful outcomes.
