City of Hampton Recycling Services
The City recycles newspapers and their inserts, magazines, junk mail, brown paper bags, corrugated cardboard, single ply cardboard (like cereal boxes), aluminum cans, steel cans, aluminum foil and pie tins, all colors of glass containers, and #1 and #2 plastic containers. They cannot accept any type of plastic bags for recycling; not even newspaper plastic bags. Dispose of plastic bags in your regular garbage. Check the website for more information.
Electronic Recycling of Virginia
Electronics Recycling of Virginia is a company specializing in Electronic Waste Collection, Electronic Waste Recycling, and Resource Recovery services. Our recycling program focuses on environmentally friendly methods of disposing e-Waste.
They offer free recycling and donation services for the Hampton Roads area. Pick up services start at $50 depending on distance. No per item, or per pound fee with the exception of TV's and CRT monitors.

Coastal Farms
Coastal Farms is an on-line farm to family program that was developed in an effort to connect family owned and operated farms serving the Hampton Roads area with customers in search of local farm fresh foods and products year round. Coastal Farms represents more than 25 local farms and businesses serving the Coastal Plains region. It is easy to become a “Hampton Roads Locavore” (locally grown food eater) today with the help of Coastal Farms!
The program works on a weekly cycle. Our first weekly order cycle will begin April 16, 2010. You can place your order on-line between Friday and Monday evening, and then pick it up at one of our convenient Hampton Roads area locations: VA Bch Oceanfront area, Ghent Area, Kempsville/Greenbrier area (actual addresses forthcoming). We hope to be adding more pick up locations very soon.
