City offers curbside recycling service for aluminum cans, beer bottles, tin cans, cardboard, chipboard, clear glass, magazines, mixed paper, newspaper, office paper, pop liter bottles (Plastic #1 PETE), and plastic milk jugs (Plastic #2 HDPF).

Collins Recycling

Collins will buy all nonmagnetic metals, such as: copper, brass, aluminum, lead, stainless steel, aluminum cans, electric motors, radiators and electrical wiring (no iron products).

The Home Depot

Residents can bring their used CFLs to a receptacle at the returns desk at the Wenatchee store and the lamps are collected and sent to Environmental Services in Seattle for recycling.

Dolco Packaging accepts Polystyrene #6-PS (i.e. meat trays) and Rigid Polystyrene #6-PS (i.e. egg cartons) for recycling.

SSC is a locally-owned and family-operated business that runs its fleet on biodiesel fuel and offices on 100% Green Power. EAT

A community food system group that promotes sustainable agriculture and eating locally grown, fresh foods to reduce environmental impacts. Events

Chelan County

Chelan county stages a household hazardous waste collection once a year. This is the only site in the county that accepts fluorescent tubes, which contain a small amount of mercury. Residents can bring in fluorescent tubes, motor oil, brake fluid, gasoline, auto flushes and additives, solvents, paints, glues, cements, roof coatings, sealants, caulking, epoxy resins, thinners, spot removers, polishes, waxes, oven cleaners, toilet cleaners, drain cleaners, deck and chimney cleaners, pool chemicals, inks, dyes, batteries and charcoal fluid. Wastes should be left in original containers. This year's hazardous waste collection is Saturday, Oct. 4, at four locations. The service is free, but a $5 donation per vehicle is encouraged to cover costs.
